After getting his degree from Virginia Tech, Dr. Clark stayed working in Virginia then West Virginia-returning home to his birthplace of Lexington, Kentucky in 1992. After working for other clinics for nearly 20 years, he decided to purchase Animal Clinic Leestown Road to call his very own in fall of 2011.  He has since built on the already existing clientele from who he purchased from, striving to create an environment that is more than just taking your pet to the vet; you're bringing your pet to visit a family member.

In the year 2021, Megan was inspired to jump into the vet industry when she saw more people adopting & spending more time with their pets during the rise of "pandemic pets". Animals have always been a huge part of Megan's life, as her mother (Tracy) is a Master Certified Groomer and father a national sales manager of a pet shampoo company. She loved traveling to dog shows and pet expos with her family growing up as a kid.

You will almost always see Megan up front to greet you in-person or on the phone, occasionally shooing Jackie Chan off her keyboard.

  • Willa; aka "The Queen Bee Cat"

Willa joined us in March of 2016, after a bit of a fun chase through the parking lot. Needing love and a home, we were more than happy to accept her into the ACLR family after the loss of Miss Kitty.

Willa has warmed up to us and now strolls through the practice as if she owns the place, making sure that things are being paid attention to by knocking them on the ground. She has taken her position as "official greetings supervisor" in stride, greeting anyone and everyone that walks through our doors (she may pop in the exam room occasionally).

So, if you need a smile, a laugh, and a purr, come visit Willa! She is free therapy with four legs! She's usually found napping on an office chair.

  • Jackie Chan - aka "The Mailbox Cat"

Jackie came to us as a rescue through TLC and it was decided to keep her in January of 2017.  She got her name from being a sneaky and mischievous cat, enjoying jumping out from behind the front desk. She likes sleeping in small spaces---her signature *spot* being our mail basket on the front desk. She is always in the mood for love and snuggles.

  • Casper - aka "The Invisible Cat"

Casper is one of our three resident cats, but she keeps to herself, and is rarely seen by visitors. She was a feral that a former staff member found and brought in with another littermate who has since been adopted. Casper can be (rarely) seen bothering Jackie for kisses after hours or demanding her favorite treats in the early morning.
